It is said that Shumesaka, a powerful necromancer, created this item during his time. He maintained a reign of terror for several years before he was unexpectedly defeated when he lost the necklace, the only thing keeping his ancient body alive. After his castle was stormed, the necklace was found under his bed. Thus was it named Shumesaka's Folly.
